DC Mokokchung suspends all offline classes till May 2nd

Kohima, April 16 (NEx): The Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung Limawabang Jamir ordered the suspension of offline classes from April 17th, 2021 to 2nd May 2021 in all the Govt./private schools under Mokokchung Municipal Area and in the villages of Ungma, Chuchuyimpang, Khensa and Mokokchung.

The DC in an order informed that, in view of the detection and confirmation of COVID-19 positive cases in some schools in Mokokchung town and in the larger interest of public health and safety, all the Govt/private schools under Mokokchung Municipal Area and in the villages of Ungma, Chuchuyimpang, Khensa and Mokokchung are hereby directed to suspend offline classes from April 17th, 2021 to 2nd May 2021 and continue with online classes.

This is in order to contain the spread of the disease infection and for necessary contact tracing, he added.

The DC also directed private tuitions/home tuitions/coaching centres to suspend offline classes during the same period and advised all parents of school students to take utmost precautionary measures and discourage their children from unnecessary loitering/movement outside their homes.

However, the ongoing HSLC/HSSLC examination will continue in all the examination centers under strict observation of all the laid down SOPs and COVID-19 protocols, the DC said.

Failure to comply with the aforementioned guidelines shall attract penalization under relevant section of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the order stated.
