DC Kohima Imposes Night Curfew From May 5th

Kohima, May 04 (NEx): The Deputy Commissioner and Chairman DTF Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie NCS imposed night curfew in Kohima District on all days starting wednesday, May 5th, 2021 from 7 PM to 6 AM and will remain in force until further order.

However, during the curfew hours, medical emergency and essential services, including pharmacies, movement of goods vehicles through goods carriers/trucks will be permitted, the DC said.

Any person violating the order will be penalized as per the provision of the Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005 beside legal action under Section 188 of the IPC, it said.

The Order was issued in view of the rapid surge in the number of persons infected by COVID-19, and with a view to curtail the transmission of the disease and in pursuance to Home Department’s order dated May 3rd, 2021 and as decided at the Kohima District Task Force meeting held on May 4th, 2021.
