DC Dimapur & Longleng Notifies On Ban Of Fire Crackers

Kohima, November 11 (NEx): Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan and the Deputy Commissioner Longleng M. Shayung Phom, has directed complete ban on sale and use of fire crackers in Dimapur and Longleng Districts respectively, from November 10, 2020 to January 31, 2021 in public interest.

In pursuance to the Notification issued by Home Department and as a measure of abundant precaution against harmful impact of chemicals which have severe impact on the respiratory health of vulnerable groups and which may prove hazardous for recovered as well as active COVID-19 patients, the DCs issued the ban in the interest of the public.

DC Dimapur directed the Goanburas/Chairman of the respective village/colonies to ensure compliance to the Order under supervision of the concerned area administrative officer.

The DCs further cautioned that any person found violating the order shall be punished under relevant provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and other relevant laws.
