Deputy Commissioner Dimapur issues directive for post total lockdown from August 3

Dimapur, August 02 (NEx): The Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Anoop Khinchi, issued an order on August 1st, to prevent and contain the spread of COVID-19, which is in continuation to the earlier order for total lockdown, giving partial relaxation to the lockdown measures from August 03, 2020.

Meanwhile, through a witty tweet, Dimapur police urged it’s citizens not to rush out for basic shopping at once. As the song goes #Take_it_Easy lest you want to turn it into another #Manic_Monday.

DC Dimapur issued following directives for compliance by the general public from August 03, 2020:

-From 3rd August, only shops dealing with essential commodities will be opened for public from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, whereas, pharmacies will open from 09:00 am and continue to remain open as per normal business hours

– Wholesale markets will remain open from 5:00 am to 09:00 am only.

-Vegetable vendors will be allowed to sell vegetables in the colonies/villages only and not in the main market. Public are directed to buy essential commodities from their respective colonies/village shops.

-New market, Hongkong market, Hazi park, Millenium market, Railway bazaar and vegetable market at Purana Bazaar will continue to remain closed.

-As the lockdown is enforced in the state, movement of all public are restricted except for availing essential services.

-Inter state and inter district movement is restricted.

-Odd/Even system of vehicular movement will continue. Autos allowed to ply with only one passenger following all necessary SOP for COVID-19.

-In all the essential shops, social distancing to be strictly maintained and adhered to. Plastic screens to be installed mandatorily in all shops and plastic shields mandatory to be worn by all shopkeepers

-All persons above the age of 65, persons with co-morbidities, pregnant women and children below the age of 10 years are advised to stay at home, except for meeting essential requirements and for health purposes as per national directives, it said.

Exception from lockdown purview;

The functioning of the offices of the District Administration, Police, security forces, Medical, essential service providers like Treasury, Fire & Emergency Services, Home guards and civil defence, Prisons, AH & VS, AAI & Airlines, district courts, PHED, life insurance, Power, NIC, DIPR, Food & civil supplies, social welfare, IT & C, Directorates, municipal/town council, AIR, Doordarshan, central Institute of horticulture, Medziphema, ICAR Jharnapani, Agri & allied departments, Medias, postal services, pharmacies, Medical Hospitals, Clinics & Nursing Homes, Internet service providers, Banks with minimal Staffs & ATMs, petroleum outlets & LPGs, Quarantine Centres, Food & Civil Supply, Social Welfare, persons/patients with Medical Emergencies and those person/individual involved in authorized COVID-19 related duties are exempted from the purview of the lockdown measures.

Any person violating these measures will be liable to be prosecuted against as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005, besides legal action under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, DC Dimapur warned.
