Kohima, October 07 (NEx): Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie NCS has informed that in view of the Bye-General Election to the 14 Southern Angami I Assembly Constituency, and in pursuance of the instructions of the Election Commission of India, the political parties, candidates and party workers carrying cash exceeding Rs.50,000/- found in a vehicle carrying a candidate, his agent or party workers or carrying posters or election materials or any drugs, liquor, arms or gift items which are valued at more than Rs.10,000/-, likely to be used for inducement of electors shall be subject to seizure.

Members of the public carrying any amount in cash exceeding Rs.50,000/- should always keep some relevant documents with them which substantiates the source and purpose of the money, the DC informed.
