CVYS Apologise For Assault On Minor Boys in Chümoukedima

Dimapur, May 11 (NEx): The Chümoukedima Village Youth Society (CVYS) on Tuesday, tendered unconditional Apology to the victim’s family for physical assault by some Youth members at Chümoukedima Village on May 06, 2021.

The Chümoukedima Village Youth Society (CVYS) President and General Secretary stated, ‘with utmost regret, CVYS tender unconditional Apology to the victims family, for the unfortunate incident on the fateful evening of 06 May 2021 at Chümoukedima Village, wherein some Youth members have physically assaulted two minors.’

‘The CVYS also expressed its sincere regret for the unfortunate turn of events where the victim was grievously injured and had to be hospitalised due to the assault. The CVYS further convey its unconditional apology and also pray for his speedy recovery.’

Meanwhile, United Sangtam Likhüm Pümji (USLP), Dimapur Sumi Students Union (DSSU), Kiphire District Congress Committee (KDCC), Dimapur Eastern Nagaland Students Union (DENSU), Sangtam Students’ Union Dimapur (SSUD) alongwith others, condemned the alleged attack on youth by some members of Chumoukedima Village Youth Society and demanded befitting punishment for the culprits.

The Dimapur Eastern Nagaland Students Union, condemning the incident, said that Chumoukedima is within the administrative jurisdiction of Dimapur district and “With second wave of the Covid-19” there is a clear standing order from the office of DC imposing night curfew from 6pm till 5am in Dimapur and CVYS is not exempted from the said order. ‘Summoning a minor and family to their office at night and assembling crowd is a clear violation of DC’s standing order and therefore the officials and volunteers of CVYS should be liable to be booked for the same,’ a press release from DENSU said.
