'COVID-19 vaccination ratio in Nagaland one of the lowest in the country'- Governor meets Church leaders.

Kohima, April 19 (NEx): The Hon’ble Governor of Nagaland, R.N Ravi held an interaction cum consultative meeting with the Church leaders of various christian denominations of Nagaland on COVID-19 pandemic at Dr. Imkongliba Hall, Raj Bhavan Kohima on Monday, April 19, 2021.

Discussing on the COVID situation in the Country and the State, Governor told that the Church leaders have moral and spiritual authority and influence over the people and therefore urged them to use their moral and spiritual capital to save the people from the pandemic. He advised the Church leaders to make people more conscious and aware of the COVID-19 challenges and need for strictly adhering to the COVID-19 appropriate behaviours, stated a press release from PRO to Governor.

‘The Governor also expressed concern over inhibitions of our people to go for vaccination and prevalence of adverse rumours in this regard. He advised the Church leaders to educate and encourage the eligible persons to go for the vaccination as the current ratio of vaccination in the State is one of the lowest in the country’, said the press release.

‘In this extraordinary situation, where the entire society is facing the stress due to COVID-19 pandemic, Hon’ble Governor reminded the Church of their significant role and thanked the Church leaders for their valuable suggestions which will be forwarded to the Government for follow-up,’ it informed.
