Nagaland Chief Minister Relief Fund application for stranded citizens outside Nagaland has been put on hold

Kohima, May 09 (NE): The financial assistance-Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF) for the stranded citizens of Nagaland outside the State has been put on hold for sorting the data of already submitted applications with the bank.

A pop up notification in the official website for stranded citizens of Nagaland to avail financial assistance said that ‘the service will be unavailable from May 09, 2020, 4:00 pm onwards’.

Speaking to NagalandExpress, Shanavas C, IAS, Principal Director, DoSE, also the nodal officer for monitoring and coordination with other states, said that ‘there are many applications pending with the bank and these data will be sorted out first. As of now, CMRF has been put on hold to clear all the pending applications submitted so far. Further information will be provided by the government after the data is sorted and required people are assisted,’ he added.

Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio announced the financial assistance to stranded citizens of Nagaland outside the state on April 20, 2020.

Till date, a total of ­­­­18,156 applicants comprising of 13,782 working persons, 4,203 students and 171 patients have been provided assistance by transferring the amounts to their bank accounts. A total of Rs. 7.12 crores has been disbursed for this purpose, reported the Principal Secretary, Home, GoN, Abhijit Sinha, IAS while briefing on COVID-19 status in the state today.

The Government was providing a financial assistance of Rs. 3000 to the stranded students, Rs. 4000 to the working persons/professional and Rs 20,000 to the patients outside Nagaland.

Now, the Nagaland government is working to bring back the stranded citizens from across India. Nagaland citizens, stranded in different parts of the country desiring to come back either on their own arrangement by Road or by arrangements to be made by the State Government can submit the returnees’ declaration form in the website
