Constitution Day Observed in Raj Bhavan Kohima

Kohima, November 27 (NE): Raj Bhavan Nagaland observed the Constitution Day with the rest of the Country on 26th November 2019 at the Lawns of Raj Bhavan Kohima.

The Governor of Nagaland, Shri RN Ravi in his address stated that the biggest challenge for independent India was how to run a diverse Country which should ensure that everyone, every culture prospers to its fullest potential and the Country grows together. After much effort by almost over 400 hundred leaders this wonderful document has been created.

Governor Ravi said the Constitution of India is a constitution which looks forward respecting the Nations heritage, past, diversity and is flexible enough to adapt to any change that comes. One example is the creation of Article 371 (A) which is a unique provision for Nagaland and it is a tribute to the versatility of the Constitution, he added.

Commissioner & Secretary to Governor, Shri T Mhabemo Yanthan in his opening remarks stated that during the recently held Conference of Governors, the President of India emphasised the need to observe Constitution Day in all Raj Bhavans in the Country. He also said that the Indian Constitution is the best in the world as it provides equality of all sections of society barring cast, creed and religion.

The Governor led in administering the Constitutional Pledge. The programme was attended by Officers and staffs of Governors Secretariat, Household staffs and security personnel of Raj Bhavan Nagaland.
