Condolences Continue To Pour In For Late C. Sashi Naga

Kohima, May 17 (NEx): The governor of Nagaland RN Ravi, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy Chief Minister Y. Patton, Leader of Opposition TR Zeliang and various organisations condole the demise of C. Sashi Naga, President of Eastern Naga Peoples’ Organization (ENPO), who passed away after a stroke on May 17th, 2021 at Christian Institute of Health Sciences & Research (CIHSR), Dimapur.

Governor RN Ravi condoles:

Governor Ravi expressed deep shock and pain at the sudden and untimely demise of Shri C. Sashi Naga, President of Eastern Naga Peoples’ Organization (ENPO), after a brief illness in the early hours of May 17th, 2021 at Christian Institute of Health Sciences & Research, Dimapur.

Ravi mentioned that Shri. C. Sashi Naga, since young age, was known for his personal and public virtues and his life was in service to the people. ‘The people of Eastern Nagaland had recently given him the responsibility of leadership and elected him the President of ENPO. His relentless and selfless services towards the society will be remembered for years to come. In his demise the State has lost a tall and dedicated leader, he added.

The Governor on behalf of the people of Nagaland and his own behalf, conveyed heartfelt condolences and pray to God to give strength to the family to bear this tragic loss and grant them peace and solace at this hour of pain.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio condoles:

The Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio said, ‘I am deeply grieved to hear the sudden demise of C. Sashi Naga, President of Eastern Nagaland Public Organisation on May 17th, 2021 at Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research, Dimapur.

Rio recalled late Sashi as a dedicated and a selfless social worker, who worked tirelessly for the welfare of the people particularly for those in need. As a leader of civil society he made significant contributions and sacrifices for the masses and his footprints will always be remembered for all times to come, he added.

The CM said that in his death, the Eastern Naga people in particular and the Nagas in general have lost a guardian and a leader and the vacuum left by him will be difficult to fill.

Rio also extended his deepest condolences to members of the bereaved family, the ENPO family and to all his well wishers and pray that the Almighty God grant them peace and solace at this time of grief.

Dy. CM Y. Patton condoles:

Dy.CM and BJP leader Y.Patton expressed grief over the untimely demise of C. Sashi Naga, ENPO president on May 17th, 2021 at Dimapur. Patton said that Sashi had recently taken up the mantle of leadership as ENPO president and was truly determined for working towards a common goal of the Nagas which unfortunately has been cut short.

Patton also said that his death is a big blow to the Nagas because this was the time when his service was needed most by the people. On behalf of the state BJP legislators, the Dy.CM conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed to rest in peace.

LOP TR Zeliang condoles:

The leader of opposition, TR Zeliang expressed grieve to learnt about the sudden demise of Shri. C Sashi Naga, President ENPO, who after a brief illness passed away at Referral Hospital Dimapur.

Zeliang recalled Sashi Naga as a gentleman who dedicated his life for the welfare of the people and especially the ENPO region. Just a couple of months into his term as the President of ENPO, his untimely demise at this hour will create a huge vacuum and is a great loss for the people of our State and in particular the ENPO, he added.

He also said, ‘ I along with my family extend deepest condolences to the bereaved family and pray that the Almighty grant solace during this time of grief and sorrow.

NDPP condoles:

The Nationalist Democratic People’s Party (NDPP) said it has come as utter shock and profound sadness to have learnt of the untimely demise of C. Sashi Naga, President of the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) on the 17th of May, 2021 at Dimapur.

The rank and file of the NDPP along with its President Chingwang Konyak conveyed heartfelt sorrow at the demise of a promising leader who would have made immense contributions not only to Eastern Nagaland, but also to the Nagas in general.

The party also conveyed sincere condolence and pray that Almighty God bestow strength and solace to the members of the bereaved family during this sad and trying times.

NPP condoles:

The National People’s Party Nagaland state mourns the tragic demise of Shri. C. Sashi Naga, President Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) and Shri. Pfuche Koza, Vice President Chakhesang Hoho Kohima (CHK) on May 17th, 2021.

The party said that it is deeply saddening to have lost such souls so brave and righteous; nonetheless their exemplary service and revolutionary work will forever remain untainted in our hearts. Both the departed Souls has indeed left a footmark to be followed by each Naga brethren, and this chivalrous dedication of his towards our people and our land shall never fade, a condolence message from NPP said.

DENSU condoles:

Dimapur Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union (DENSU) expressed deep pain over the demise of Shri C.Sashi Naga, President, ENPO, who breathed his last on May 17th, 2021 at CIHSR, Dimapur.

The Union said that he was an exceptional tall leader and a man of God who had selflessly contributed his life to his people till his last breath and his unwavering dedication and devotion to his people is a tribute to his high principles. His invaluable contributions and profound allegiance will always be remembered, DENSU said.

It also expressed sincere sympathy to the bereaved family and dear ones and pray for God’s kindness to endure the sudden demise.

NSCN condoles:

The Collective Leadership of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) in its condolence message said that it is deeply saddened at the sudden demise of ENPO President Mr. C. Sashi Naga today, May 17th, 2021, at Referral Hospital, Dimapur.

The Collective Leadership lamented that the Nagas have lost a great public leader whose service as ENPO President was prematurely cut short by the cruel hands of death.

It also expressed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and his close friends and colleagues in ENPO and prays that the Almighty God provides solace to them.
