Compulsory COVID Vaccination For All Nagaland Police Personnel
(DGP Nagaland with senior officials of PHQ after the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine on April 9th, 2021)

Kohima, April 09 (NEx): The Director General of Police (DGP) Nagaland T.J. Longkumer declared compulsory vaccination for all personnel of Nagaland Police, a press release from the office of the DGP Nagaland, informed today, April 9th, 2021.

The DGP along with Senior Officers of PHQ took the 2nd Dose of Covid-19 Vaccine today.

The press release mentioned that Covid-19 Vaccine is not a preventive measure, so all SOP for prevention of Covid-19 like wearing of Masks etc are still mandatory for all, even for those vaccinated.

Explaining the mechanism, the DGP said that the Vaccine is taken to help our immune system to grow antibodies against the disease. Once the vaccination regime is over, your body’s Immune system will be ready to deal with Covid-19 virus in case you get infected. This is the most effective way to kill the virus completely.

Further, he also added that vaccinations are a time tested method to manage pandemics. Historically, vaccination was the way humanity defeated many deadly diseases like Small pox, Measles, Polio etc. Today new born babies are given Vaccines for the most deadly diseases. So it is a proven methodology.

Also, the DGP directed all Unit Commanders to ensure that all personnel are vaccinated.
