Compulsory COVID test only for those who came from UK: DH&FW clarifies

Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland on Tuesday clarified that the compulsory COVID test are meant only for persons who came to Nagaland from the United Kingdom

Kohima, December 29 (NEx): A day after the circular on compulsory COVID test, the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland on Tuesday clarified that the compulsory COVID test are meant only for persons who came to Nagaland from the United Kingdom (UK).

On Monday, the Principal Director, H&FW, Dr Vizolie Z Suokhrie through a circular informed that, in view of the emergence of variant strain of COVID-19 from United Kingdom, all person who have come to Nagaland, either Indian or foreign nationals after December 20, 2020, are to report to the respective District Task Force (DTF) on COVID-19 for compulsory testing.’

Later, in a clarification, Principal Director, H&FW, today stated that ‘the compulsory test are meant only for those who have arrived from United Kingdom (UK) after December 20, 2020, and not as interpreted’.

Any persons arriving to the State from Monday, December 28, 2020, are to self declare at the point of entry, inform the DTF, and self isolate for necessary standard testing protocols, Suokhrie informed.
