Dimapur, April 13 (NEx): The Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio inaugurated the 2-lane RCC T-beam bridge over Dhansiri River today, April 13th, 2021, which is open for one way traffic.
Taking to Twitter, the Chief Minister congratulated the Urban Development Department, Engineering Wing & all concerned and also urged the public to take care of the bridge.
Rio added that it will ease traffic congestion & boost economic activities and mentioned that it is a proud moment for the govt. & a need fulfilled for the public.
The inauguration program was held in the presence of Advisor, Urban Development & Municipal affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, Principal Secretary, Urban Development & Municipal affairs, Himato Zhimomi, Director Urban Development, Takatuba Aier, Chief Engineer PWD (H) & incharge, Urban engineering wing and others.
Chief Engineer, PWD (H) & in-charge Urban Engineering Wing, Er. Yanbemo Lotha in his technical report stated that the project was completed within 2 years, at a budget of Rs. 1374.85 lakhs, which is one of the most economical bridge of similar bridges built in Nagaland.
Meanwhile, the Dimapur Traffic Police on Moday, informed that after the inauguration of the new RCC T–beam Bridge over the Dhansiri River, the bridge will be opened for one way traffic from Purana Bazar to town area only.
In a press release, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) and PRO, Dimapur stated that the arrangement is being done for the smooth flow of traffic and public convenience and requested all to abide by the new traffic regulation.
