CM Neiphiu Rio inaugurates public recreational center at Green Park Dimapur

Dimapur, January 21 (NEx): The Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio inaugurated a Public Recreational Center located at Green Park, State Horticulture Nursery, Dimapur in the presence of Advisor, Horticulture & Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan on January 21st, 2021. The Public Recreational Centre at Green Park Dimapur has 3 Gazebos, 2 Percolas, 2 Outdoor Gyms, 1 cafetaria & tiled pathways to encourage active lifestyle.

The Chief Minister in a tweet said, ‘Inaugurated Public Recreational Centre at Green Park. I congratulate @horticulturengl for the initiative and hard work. I hope the park will be a catalyst for economic activity and employment and preserved for future generations while meeting the needs of the present generation’ -unquote.

Speaking on the occasion, Rio said that the park should not only be confined to the department alone, but it should also open to the general public for recreational, jogging and other activities.

Rio said that he plan to have public parks in Dimapur and Chumoukedima as well and also mentioned that three more places in Kohima located at Old Zoo Ministers Hill, Nagaland University campus at Meriema and Fishery complex at Thizama has also been identified for setting up of recreational park for public utility.

Meanwhile, the Advisor, Horticulture & Border Affairs, Mathung Yanthan in his speech, appealed to the neighbouring colonies and villages to protect the park as it belongs to all and said that it has a lot of scope for revenue generation and employment avenues.
