Civil Societies against Government’s decision on ILP in Dimapur district

Dimapur, February 14 (NE): Since last week there has been letters from various civil societies writing about unhappiness on the ILP issue in Dimapur district by the Government of Nagaland which has drawn ire by another Students’ body, Dimapur Naga Students Union (DNSU), today, February Fourteen.

A notification said that the DNSU is very much disappointed over the decision on a separate cut-off date issued by Government of Nagaland for Dimapur district. Many organizations are of the same page on this issue as ILP is already active. The civil societies want to keep the cut off date as – December 1, 1963, not November 21, 1979, as issued by the Government of Nagaland.

The Union, therefore appeals the Government of Nagaland to understand pros and cons before implementing any laws, which may jeopardize the demography of Nagaland as a whole, it observed. This was adopted during the fourth unit presidential meeting at it’s office, a press release from the DNSU office said.
