Dimapur, January 30 (NEx): The Chumukedima Town Council (CTC) assigned designated parking spaces for vehicles, as random vehicles parking along NH-29 in Chumukedima is causing obstruction to Smooth pedestrian and vehicular movement. Beware and be ready to face the law for parking vehicles along National Highway 29 in Chumukedima from February 1st, 2021 onwards.
The Chumukedima Town Council (CTC) SDO (C) & Administrator in an order issued on Friday stated that vehicles such as passenger and goods auto rickshaw, pick-up trucks, dumper trucks etc are being parked along the National Highway 29 between 7th Mile gate to 1st gate under Chumoukedima Town Council area causing obstruction to Smooth pedestrian and vehicular movement.
The vehicular traffic along the second gate area are chocked up due to parking of passenger auto rickshaws and private vehicles, it stated.
The SDO CTC, in the interest of public service and with the view to ensure smooth and safe pedestrian and vehicular movement, designated Chumukedima Thepfu Thepfuko (CTT) parking behind second gate daily market, ward 6, Chumoukedima Town as the parking area for parking of various categories of vehicles as mentioned below;
The 2nd Gate auto parking shall be shifted to CTT parking, behind 2nd gate daily market. All passenger auto rickshaws earlier parked at 2nd gate auto parking shall henceforth be parked at the designated CTT parking only, it said.
Private vehicle parking at 2nd gate road shall be shifted to CTT Parking. Only two wheelers shall be allowed to be parked at 2nd gate road, the order stated.
All passenger auto rickshaws currently parked at 7th Mile gate shall be parked inside the 7th Mile gate – new district office complex road. No auto rickshaw shall be allowed to be parked on NH 29, it said.
Further, the order stated that, Light goods vehicle (LGV) such as auto rickshaw, pick up, Tata Ace, Chota Hathi, Mahindra pick up, Tata mobile etc, currently parked between 7th Mile Gate and 2nd gate on NH 29 at Chumoukedima Town shall be shifted to CTT parking.
Local taxis earlier parked at Charis Academy shall also be shifted to CTT parking, the order read.
The order is issued as per section 303 & 304 of Nagaland Municipal Act, 2001 and defaulters are liable to be proceeded against as per provisions of law and the order shall come into force with effect from February 01, 2021, the SDO informed.
