Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio greets the Pochury and Khiamniungan Community

Kohima, October 4 (NE): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today, October 4, 2019, took to twitter to greet the Pochury and Khiamniungan Community on the occasion of Yemshe and Tsokum respectively.

Chief Minister in his tweet greeted the Pochury community of Nagaland on the happy occasion of Yemshe. “May the Almighty bless you with a bountiful harvest. Wishes for renewed relationships, peace and prosperity upon all.”

In another tweet, Chief Minister wishes the Khiamniungan community of Nagaland on the occasion of Tsokum. “May the celebration of the festival be successful and bring peace, harmony and more blessings upon your lives.”

Yemshe festival is a harvest festival celebrated by Pochury tribe of Nagaland, starts from the last week of September to the first week of October where all the Pochuries come together to celebrate the year’s hard work with fun and frolic.

The pre harvesting festival, Tsokum is celebrated by Khiamniungan community with great fun and gaiety. The seven day long festival is marked by thanking God for being blessed with good crops and wellness in the family.
