Kohima, November 24 (NE): Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, GoI, Ashwini Kumar Choubey informed in the ongoing winter session of Lok Sabha that the complete central share of Rs.171.10 crore for establishment of Medical college at Kohima has been released.
MoS, Ashwini Kumar Choubey was answering the question in the Lok Sabha asked by MP, Nagaland, Tokheho Yepthomi on the status of Nagaland Medical College.
The college was approved under the first phase of CSS to be established at the Naga Hospital (Kohima) at a cost of 189 crore. The funds were to be shared by the Centre and the State government in the ratio of 90: 10, MoS replied.
“Complete amount of Central share amounting to Rs.171.10 crore has been released to the State Government of Nagaland for establishment of this medical college. The State has reported progress of 16.50% on Ministry’s dashboard. The State Government has been requested to expedite the completion of this medical college,” he added.
MP Nagaland, Tokheho Yepthomi said, Nagaland thanks Union Minister, Dr Harsh Vardhan for his support to make this hospital functional by 2020-21.
