Dimapur, September 2: Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) urges Nagaland government to take preventive measures to control the influx of migrants from Assam
With more than 19 lakh people excluded from the final list of National Register of Citizens, NRC published in Assam, the Central Nagaland Tribes Council, CNTC has urged the state government to take preventive measures to control the influx of migrants into the Nagaland.
In a release, CNTC expressed apprehension on the arrival of those excluded persons into Nagaland. Maintaining that the rights and future of the indigenous citizens must be protected, CNTC asked the concerned authority to conduct Inner Line Permit checking at every entry points while also urging respective local authorities not to issue any documents to non-locals at this juncture.
CNTC also said that that without depending only on the authorities, every citizen should keep vigil and be responsible.
