Candlelight Vigil Held in Kohima in Honour of Victims of Lamhainamdi incident

Kohima, April 01 (NEx): The Zeliangrong Students’ Union Kohima organised a candlelight vigil to honour the victims of Lamhainamdi village incident on Wednesday, March 31st, 2021.

A DIPR report said that hundreds of Kohima citizens assembled at the local ground to pay homage to Lt. Itingwangbe Haikam, Lt. Peramhialungbo and Lt. Sikamwangbo who were killed by unknown assailants on March 22nd, at Lamhainamdi Village in Peren district.

President Zeliangrong Baudi, Kohima, Dr. Hiabe Zeliang urged all right thinking citizens to condemn the gun culture. He also appealed the law enforcing agency to book the culprits and award benefiting punishment at the earliest.

Others who spoke at the candlelight event are, President, Angami Public Organisation Dr.Kepelhusie Terhüja; President Tenyimi People’s Organisation, Timikha Koza, President Lotha hoho Kohima.

Solidarity speeches were also delivered by Zeliangrong Students Union, Nagaland, Rengma students Union, Pochury Students Union, Chekhasang Student’s Union, Angami Student’s Union and Ao Student’s Union.

Earlier, President Zeme council Nagaland Dr. Tumda Newme gave an introductory speech while vote of thanks was proposed by Keyizu Hega. One minute silent prayer was also observed during the program.
