CAN contributes towards transportation cost of stranded citizens in other states

Catholic Association of Nagaland (CAN) extended helping hand towards the Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF) in shouldering the transportation cost of stranded citizens in other states

Kohima, May 27 (NE): The Catholic Association of Nagaland (CAN) extended helping hand towards the Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF) in shouldering the transportation cost of stranded citizens in other states who are being brought home in hired buses.

The CAN contributed an amount of rupees seven lakhs towards the CMRF, on May 25, 2020, to show their solidarity to the enormous responsibility placed on the government due to the pandemic COVID-19, and in protecting the lives of the citizens of Nagaland from the infection.

The amount was received by Deputy Secretary to the Chief Minister Andrew C. Imti, with an acknowledgment from the Chief Minister’s Office on May 26, 2020.

Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha, IAS on May 26, 2020, while briefing on COVID-19, informed that Special Buses from West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Daman & Diu, Lucknow are being arranged by the state government to bring back stranded persons outside the state.

Meanwhile, 99 stranded citizens of Nagaland has departed from Punjab yesterday in 3 buses after availing transportation assistance from the State Government.
