“Breast & Cervical Cancer” awareness camp at Rotary Centre, Dimapur held

Dimapur, February 20 (NE): In a program organised by InnerWheel Club (IWC), Dimapur, for creating awareness on breast as well as cervix cancers among females, held at Rotary Club, Dimapur today, February Twenty. The Club hopes to educate the common people to help diagnose and fight cancer early.

Resource persons were Dr Khusboo Agarwal, Consultant, Radiologist of Nikos Hospital, Dimapur and Dr Mhasiseno T Belho, Consultant, Gynaecologist and proprietor of Belho’s Nursing Home, Dimapur who spoke on respective topics.

It is revealed that High percentage of diagnosed cases have chances to get breast cancer. It was an excellent opportunity to interact with doctors and know signs and symptoms to help recognise cancer in its early curable stages, a citizen said. Few cancer survivors also testified during the awareness program.

Dr Khushboo Agarwal, one of the resource persons said that the best method to prevent cancer is starting self breast examination by taking ten minutes of time in a month. During the process, if one finds any doubt then start consulting a gynecologist in a hospital. Meanwhile, Dr Mhasiseno T. Belho, spoke about cervical cancer. She highlighted that it can happen through HPV Virus, among many other reasons.

Cancer is an early detectable and curable disease. Both the resource persons explained various myths attached to cancer particularly in India among people’s perspective.
