Kohima, October 29 (NEx): Best performing Community Health Officers (CHOs) were felicitated, in recognition of their tireless efforts even during this pandemic to provide basic health care services to the general public.
The awards which are based on five thematic areas were announced by Dr.Thanghoi Lam, SPO & Nodal Officer, Health & Wellness Centre (HWC). Congratulating the winners Dr.Thanghoi, encouraged them to continue doing their job in rendering health care services to the people, especially at the grassroot. He also encouraged the CHOs to have healthy competition amongst them to bring about quality health care services.
The felicitation was done during a one-day training on Learning Resource Package on Family Planning including FPLMIS (Family Planning Logistic Management Information System) through Zoom for the CHOs on October 23, 2020 organised by the National Health Mission, Dept of Health & Family Welfare with its technical partners USAID NISHTHA Jhpiego.
Dr. Longai Phom, the State Nodal officer for Family planning in his opening remark also mentioned, that, Family Planning is not necessarily about birth control, however, it is to ensure proper spacing so that both mother and the baby are safe and healthy.
Monetary awards and certificates were given to the best performing CHOs along with consolation prizes to motivate and encourage them to do better.
The awards were based on the highest number of services provided for the last three quarters on the mentioned thematic areas and timely uploading of reports in the HWC Portal were also considered as part of the evaluation.
