Kohima, December 12 (NEx): The Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire, Ajit Kumar Ranjan IAS, inaugurated the bailing machine unit of the Kiphire Town Council (KTC) and commissioned a new dumper and Bolero pick-up on December 12, 2020 at old NST Kiphire.
The KTC also launched the “Cash for trash Scheme” where the public are encouraged to sell their plastics every Saturday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at Old NST Kiphire, since the single use plastic is banned and the safe disposal of other forms of plastic was a point of concern.
In his inaugural address, the DC of Kiphire emphasised that the bailing unit is for the benefit of the public and encouraged them to make optimal use of the facility. He also requested the civil and church leaders alike to help generate awareness regarding segregation and safe disposal of wastes at the household level.
Dedicatory prayer was offered by president USBLA Pastor Alison, who lauded the efforts of the KTC and District Administration and reiterated that it is indeed a step towards cleaner environment and also has a scope of local job generation and assured complete cooperation towards the efforts.
