Awareness Program on School Sanitation and Hygiene held at Christian High School, Jalukie

Peren, October 19 (NE): An awareness programme on School Sanitation and Hygiene under BBBP was organized by Peren District Administration and District Level Centre for Women-Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) on 19th Oct’ 2019 at Christian High School, Jalukie.

The programme was organized to impart informal education to the students on why it is important to maintain proper sanitation and hygiene in our day to day lives.

District Coordinator MSK, Lungngaulie in her short speech briefed the students about what sanitation and hygiene is and the need to maintain cleanliness. She also spoke on the Sukhanya Samriddhi Account (SSA) Government Schemes which is to provide monetary help to girls for future education and marriage expenses.

Lungngaulie further asserted that the main objective of organizing this awareness programme is to educate the ongoing girl’s student in maintaining a proper cleanliness and hygiene as poor sanitation impairs the health leading to high rates of malnutrition and productivity losses but maintaining proper hygiene is also important so as to prevent certain diseases in the near future.

After the programme sanitary pads were also distributed to all the participants.
