Assam Rifles Organised Picnic For Adora Children’s Home at Noklak:

Shamatore Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) conducted a Picnic for Adora Children’s Home at Noklak, on January 01, 2021.

PRO HQ IGAR (N) said that on the occasion of New Year Celebration, lots of interesting games and fun filled activities were organised for the children to make the event memorable. Assam Rifles also conducted medical camp for the children. 24 children and the caretakers joined the picnic, he said.

Assam Rifles Constructed New Toilet Blocks For School Students at Longleng:

Mokokchung Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) constructed new toilet blocks at Jordan School, Bura Namsang, Longleng District on December 31, 2020.

PRO in a press release informed that Assam Rifles constructed new toilet blocks for students at Jordan School, Bura Namsang, Longleng as a gesture of goodwill to fullfil the basic requirement of having toilet blocks in the school for the students in the village located in remote areas. It was highly appreciated by the locals and expressed their gratitudes to the Battalion for this kind gesture, the release said.

Mokokchung Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) organised a two week Bamboo Craft workshop for physically disabled from December 21st-29th, 2020 at Mokokchung.

The PRO HQ IGAR (N) said that Assam Rifles organised a two week Bamboo Craft workshop for physically disabled
individuals from Mokokchung with a vision of equipping them with additional skills to explore alternative sources of livelihood. The workshop enabled these individuals in developing skills to create valuable products from bamboo which is easily available in the region in plenty to use them both for commercial and domestic purposes.

(Multi Skill set Development Center established at Pungro on December 31, 2020)

Assam Rifles Established Multi Skill Set Development Centre At Pungro:

Kiphire Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) established a multi Skill set Development Center at Pungro on December 31, 2020.

The project included renovation of the building provided by PACSU (Pungro Area College Students Union) and provision of stores & equipment to augment the three essential skillsets of Information Technology & Computers, Organic farming and Piggery amongst the locals, the PRO said.

The PRO HQ IGAR (N) also informed that the facility was inaugurated by Shri Yansomong, 2nd Head Goan Burah in presence of the Assam Rifles personnel and Goan Burahs & council members of Pungro Town & PACSU under the overall coordination of Yimchungru Tribal Council.

The villagers and council members expressed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles for their novel initiative of promoting empowerment and self reliant growth of the locals in the remote border region, it said.
