Assam Rifles Organises Debate & Painting Competition For COVID-19 Awareness

Kohima, November 22 (NEx): Kiphire Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) organised a debate & painting competition to promote COVID-19 awareness at Mount Horeb Baptist School, Pungro in Kiphire district on November 21, 2020.

A press release from the PRO HQ IGAR (N) said that the aim of the event was to promote awareness on the COVID-19 pandemic and the various precautionary measures like use of sanitizers & masks, maintaining social distancing as well as other health & hygiene habits.

A total of 35 boys and 25 girls alongwith 10 teaching staff and Principal participated in the event, it said.

Assam Rifles Conducts Medical And Immunisation Camp:

Meanwhile, the Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) conducted Medical and Immunisation camp at Lower Sinjol and its adjoining villages on November 20, 2020.

A press release from the PRO HQ IGAR (N) said that Assam Rifles in collaboration with 01 doctor and 02 staff members of PHC, Athibung conducted medical check up of villagers of Lower Sinjol and Nkio Lodhi village and provided necessary medication.

Immunization to the infants and children was also provided. The villagers were also briefed about the various health and hygiene precautions to be taken during the COVID-19 crisis.

A total of 87 villagers received medical treatment and 03 infants were administered pending vaccines. A total of 90 individuals including 36 males, 31 females and 23 children were benefited from the medical and immunization camp.

Further, the Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) conducted COVID-19 awareness campaign at Tening on November 20, 2020.

Villagers were briefed about symptoms of COVID-19 and measures to avoid the infection. The AR also asked them to use mask and sanitisers and not to put down their guard against the pandemic. Basic medical check up of the people was also conducted. A total of 53 villagers attended the event, said the press release.

The GBs and Chairman acknowledged the efforts and thanked the forces for their selfless service for the people.
