Kohima, March 13 (NEx): Assam Rifles installed solar lights and interacted with Ex-Servicemen at Kiphire. The AR also distributed Sports items at Mokokchung and conducted a workshop on Women Empowerment at Bungsang Village, Dimapur on March 13th, 2021.

Kiphire Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) installed solar street lights at Mimi village, Kiphire District, Nagaland today, under the civic action projects, informed the PRO, HQ IGAR (North).

Addressing the long desired requirement of the border village, the unit under the civic action programme installed three solar street light systems at key locations of the village thereby providing them with uninterrupted light at all times, it said.

The villagers and council members expressed their profound gratitude to the Assam Rifles for this novel initiative.

Awareness & Interactive Session With Ex-Servicemen Held At Kiphire

The PRO also informed that, Kiphire Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organised an awareness forum and interactive session with Ex-Servicemen, widows and veer naries of Army, Assam Rifles and other CAPFs from Kiphire district, Nagaland today, March 13, 2021.

The event was organised as part of the outreach initiative to connect with the ex-servicemen, address their grievances and take corrective actions on priority to alleviate their sufferings. Lectures on employment avenues to their wards as well as financial management were also conducted.

A total of 10 Ex-Servicemen and widows attended the event, the PRO said.

Assam Rifles Distributed Sports Items At Mokokchung

Mokokchung Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) distributed various sports kits and equipments to budding young talent from Mokokchung District, today.

The PRO mentioned that the noble gesture will inculcate a love for sports and also nurture the local talent and youth in particular. The initiative will go a long way in inspiring and nurturing the young aspiring and promising sportsmen to do well in various sports discipline in future.

Workshop On Women Empowerment Held At Bungsang Village, Dimapur

Ghaspani Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) conducted a workshop on Women Empowerment at Community Hall Bungsang Village, Dimapur District, today.

The Assam Rifles personnel conducted lectures, meetings and interaction with the local womenfolk in the village during the day.

Aspects on Women Empowerment & various entry schemes in Security
Forces were deliberated upon. A total of 25 women attended the lecture, the PRO informed.
