Kohima, May 01 (NEx): As part of its outreach program to promote modernization in villages through civic action initiative, Kiphire Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) gifted a Desktop computer with accessories to Langzanger Village, Kiphire district, Nagaland on April 30th, 2021. The locals and the village council appreciated the novel efforts of the Assam Rifles.
Assam Rifles Installs Six Portable Toilet Blocks At Zunheboto Town:
The PRO informed that Zunheboto Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) giving impetus to Swachh Bharat Mission, has undertaken the installation of portable toilets under Assam Rifles Civic action Programme 2020-21 at Zunheboto Town, Zunheboto District, Nagaland on April 30th, 2021.
The toilet blocks will provide better sanitation facility & cleanliness to the local population and will strengthen the stride towards ‘Swachh Bharat Abhyaan’.
The toilet blocks were installed with an aim to provide a healthy & disease free environment and to cater for the popular need of local populace towards public health. Since no construction of toilets could be undertaken in recent times due to ongoing pandemic, the installation of the facility invited profound gratitude from the Town Gaonbura association for this noble initiative by the force.
The toilets blocks have been installed at locations frequented by local population like the Bus Stand, Circuit House, Public Ground and near the Government College completely in sync with much needed requirement of the population, the PRO added.
The toilet blocks were handed over to town authorities. The event was witnessed by the District Commissioner, Zunheboto and prominent GBs of Zunheboto town. The civil administration and local populace conveyed sincere gratitude to Assam Rifles.
Free Medical Camp Cum Covid-19 Awareness Drive At Kiphire;
As part of OP Sadbhavana, Kiphire Battalion of IGAR (North) under the aegis of Spear Corps organised a free medical check-up camp cum COVID-19 Awareness Drive for the residents of Langzanger village, Kiphire District, Nagaland on April 30th, 2021.
The medical team provided medical assistance, medicines & other COVID-19 related essentials. The camp was a success as it provided medical aid to 48 persons from all age groups in the area.
The camp also focused on creating awareness about precautions to be taken in the wake of recent surge in Covid-19 cases. The beneficiaries included people from the weaker sections of the society consisting of senior citizens, women and children.
