Kohima, March 01 (NEx): Battalions of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) carried out various activities to assist the public in different villages in Nagaland.
Distribution Of Wheel Chairs & Hearing Aids At Noklak:
Shamatore Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) distributed Wheel chairs and hearing aids at Noklak and Tuesang district on February 28, 2021.
The PRO informed that under this project a total of 14 Wheel Chairs and 17 Hearing Aids were distributed to the physically challenged people and a free medical check up and demonstration on how to use the equipment was also carried out.
The aim of the project was to enhance the sense of pride & improving the quality of life of differently abled persons.
Medical Camp Organised At Reguri Village, Phek:
Phek Battalion of Assam Rifles under aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organised a medical camp at Reguri village, Phek District, Nagaland on 28 Feb 2021.
The main aim of medical camps was to provide necessary medical help and advice in remote areas and strengthen the bonhomie between local populace and the security forces.
A total of 65 locals got benefitted in terms of medical check-up, treatment and free medicines which include 20 men, 33 women and 12 children.
AR Donates Blood To A Young Girl At Meluri Town, Phek:
Phek Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) as a Nobel gesture helped a young girl by donating a rare blood group at Meluri Town, Nagaland on February 28, 2021.
The girl was having serious medical issues and her HB level was as low as 3.5. The family members including NGOs approached Assam Rifles after exhausting all possible means. In a quick response and with sense of emergency, immediate blood transfusion was done after screening five individuals, the PRO informed.
HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaign Conducted At Kiphire:
Kiphire Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) participated in a campaign of District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit on HIV prevention organised by Longya Ward Youth Organization in Kiphire Town, Kiphire District, Nagaland on February 27, 2021.
RMO of the unit and staff of Nagaland state AIDS control society briefed the villagers on HIV prevention. The campaign was attended by 40 locals of Kiphire town, the PRO said.
