Assam rifles conduct Pulse Polio Immunisation Drive in Noklak, Phek & Kiphire

Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N), organised Polio Immunisation Programme at the border area of Noklak, Phek and Kiphire districts on January 31

Kohima, January 31 (NEx): The Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N), organised Polio Immunisation Programme at the border area of Noklak, Phek and Kiphire districts on January 31, 2021.

The PRO informed that Shamatore Battalion of Assam Rifles in coordination with State Health Authorities conducted the Polio Immunisation Programme at remote villages of Noklak district and the campaign will continue for next two days till February 2nd, 2021.

Meanwhile, the PRO also informed that Phek Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted a Pulse Polio immunization programme at Phek and in order to mitigate the risk of polio virus, maximum children under the age of 5 years were administered oral vaccine.

A medical camp was set up by the unit at the Battalion Hospital and a total of 54 children were immunised in the programme. In addition, free medical check-up and treatment was also provided to locals.

Further, the PRO informed that Kiphire Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organised Pulse Polio immunization drive in remote border villages of Kiphire District on January 31st, 2021 where, a total of 322 Children were immunized.

The medical teams of the unit in coordination with district medical officials reached out to the remote border villages and immunized the children upto 5 years of age with Pulse Polio Drops in the remote villages of Ditanvong, Kuisam, Thongsonyu, Tsundang, Mimi, Longkhimong, Mutingkhong, Kiphire village and Longmatre town.

The villagers expressed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles for their genuine concern and novel initiatives.
