Kohima, February 20 (NE): The first ever “Ashoka Changemaker Day”, to ‘Celebrate Teen Led Social Innovations’ organised by Nagaland Board of School education (NBSE), Ashoka and Entrepreneurs Associates (EA), will be held on February 22, 2020 at Kevilhouü Rio Auditorium, G Rio School, Kohima from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.
Changemaker Days are events conducted by some of the most aspirational schools and Universities in India in partnership with Ashoka, with the objective of helping students gain a fresh perspective on entrepreneurship, leadership, empathy and change-making.
In Nagaland the event is being organised to enable more schools and students to participate and learn from the exercise. This celebration features eminent speakers, social entrepreneurs and young changemakers who give the students a window into the world of changemaking and inspire the future generation of the world.
The Idea Pitch competition will allow students to put forward their innovative ideas to address the various social and environmental problems, with the top three winners getting a chance to participate in the Ashoka National Launch pad program besides cash prizes by the education department.
The Changemaker Day in schools are conducted to help the school community builder Changemaker culture. The event is designed to trigger the development of a supportive ecosystem where every teenager in the school school get the space and opportunity to become a Changemaker.
