Kohima, November 20 (NE): Mokokchung Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR(N) organised a ‘Security Review Meeting’ with various Civil Society Organisations at Mokokchung on Wednesday, November 20, 2019.
In a release from Assam Rifles on Wednesday stated, The aim of the event was to assess ongoing situation, measures to ensure no violation of Cease Fire Ground Rules and ways to curb illegal taxation.
The meeting was co-chaired by Commandant, Mokokchung Battalion and SP Mokokchung with representatives from Ao Senden, Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM) and student leaders, it added.
It’s important to note that, Union minister of state for home G Kishan Reddy on Tuesday, November 19, told the Lok Sabha that there has been considerable progress in the ongoing Naga peace talks and almost all the Naga underground groups are engaged with the Central government in the peace process.
“All stakeholders, including the states of Assam, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh, will be duly consulted before any settlement is arrived at with the Naga groups and their concerns taken into consideration,” Union Minister told while replying to a written question in the ongoing winter session of Lok Sabha.
