Kohima, November 29 (NEx): Shamatore Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) provided emergency medical aid to an injured girl in Noklak and also conducted Covid-19 Awareness Campaigns at villages of Tuensang & Noklak, while Jalukie battalion conducted Covid-19 Awareness Campaign at Athibung, Peren district.
Assam Rifles Provides Emergency Medical Aid:
A press release from the PRO HQ IGAR (N) on November 29 informed that, Shamatore Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) provided emergency medical aid to a young girl who was critically injured while working in the fields at Dan (Pangsha) in Noklak district.
Seeing her serious condition and huge loss of blood, the medical staff of the Post immediately gave her medical assistance and carried out suturing so as to prevent further loss of blood. This yeoman service of Assam Rifles in the remote border region has ensured that the villages and Assam Rifles live in total harmony.
Assam Rifles Conducts COVID-19 Awareness Campaign:
Shamatore Assam Rifles battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR(N) also carried out a focussed awareness drive and campaign targeting the remote villages of Tuensang and Noklak districts. Local medical authorities and village councils were also incorporated to obtain maximum coverage and to effectively spread awareness about COVID-19 protocols.
This endeavour has once again made villages aware about the importance of social distancing and other protocols required to be followed to prevent the outbreak or spread of COVID menace in these remote villages.
Dr Victor, CMO Noklak and his team was also a part of this awareness drive. Choklangan, Wensui, and all villages in Chingmei region have been addressed in the current effort. The unit has resolved to address every village in its area of responsibility similarly, before Christmas & New Year so that 2021 can be a corona free year for Nagaland.
AR Conducts COVID-19 Awareness Campaign:
Meanwhile, in another press release by the PRO to AR on November 29, it was informed that, Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) conducted COVID-19 awareness campaign at Athibung on November 27, 2020.
The Assam Rifles troops conducted COVID-19 awareness campaign in main market area of Athibung town. Troops also distributed face masks and sanitizers to the people and briefed them about various health and hygiene precautions to be taken during the COVID-19 pandemic, informed the press release.
The event was also utilized to inform people about Sainik School registration and get volunteer students for the same.
A total of 48 villagers attended the awareness camp which include 12 males, 04 females and 32 children, said the release.
