Animal Health Camp and Dog Show held at Mon District

Mon, October 22 (NE): The College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Jalukie, Peren District, Nagaland lead by the Dean, Dr. Capt. G. Dhanan Jaya Rao with Veterinary Specialists Dr. Gunjan Das, Dr. S. Mukherjee, Dr. Laltlankimi, Dr. Sashotola Ozukum, Dr. R. John and Dr. Tukheswar including 10 final year students conducted the First Animal Health Camp and First Dog show at KU Town Hall, Mon on October 22, 2019 in collaboration with the Mon District Administration, Mon Veterinary Department and 35 Assam Rifles.

Shri. K. Thavaseelan, Deputy Commissioner, Mon made all the arrangements and personally monitored the conduct of the First Dog Show and Animal Health Camp along with the Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr. Gloria Ngullie and her team of Veterinary Officers – Dr. Vikato Sumi, Dr. Manloi Konyak, Dr. Suiding Hinglak and Dr. Manjam Konyak. Shri. C. John Konyak, former MLA initiated and also actively participated in the camp.

Dog show was conducted for the first time in Mon. It had 46 participants of various breeds. 286 dogs, 16 cattle, 34 pigs and 84 poultry were treated in the Animal Health Camp. 164 dogs were administered Anti Rabies Vaccine. Blood and faecal tests were done for 28 dogs.

A chicken cage made from indigenous locally available materials like cycle wheel, tube and mesh designed by the College of Veterinary Sciences, Jalukie was handed over to the Deputy Commissioner of Mon for the benefit of the people of Mon.
