ANCSU’s E-Collegiate Meet Cum Beat Contest 2020 ongoing

Kohima, December 15 (NEx): The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) commenced it’s E-Collegiate Meet Cum Beat Contest 2020 under the theme ‘BEYOND’ on December 14, 2020, which was hosted by Government Polytechnic Kohima, with Shri. Neiphiu Rio Hon’ble Chief Minister as the Chief Host.

ANCSU in a press release informed that the Inaugural program was graced by Shri. Medo Yhokha Hon’ble Advisor Technical Education and Election, as the Inaugural Guest. The e-collegiate meet is being held with Shri. Temjen Imna Along Hon’ble Minister Higher Education & Tribal Affairs and Er.Zale Neikha Hon’ble Advisor Youth Resources and Sports as the Hosts.

The Chief Minister who is also the chief host, in his greetings message, congratulated the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) for their contributions to the society and also complimented the office bearers, committee members and all those who are involved in organizing the “E-Collegiate Meet Cum Beat Contest, 2020”.

Appreciating the Union, Rio said, “I am aware that the All Nagaland College Students’ Union is a disciplined and progressive body that has promoted the cause of student’s welfare for several years and I am sure that as an important student organization, ANCSU will continue to have strong grounding principles to guide your members and help our State in the years to come”.

CM Rio reminded that we are now living in a fast changing world where you cannot sit and relax on your past achievements. “You need to be ready to keep changing and adjust to the new environments and should also believe in yourself, follow your passion, cope with the changes and create your own future”- unquote.

He further encouraged everyone to strive to excel and go beyond the limits that have been set by society and by ourselves in the past.

Addressing the meet virtually, Er.Zale
Neikha, Advisor YRS, exhorted the students about the role of Education and role of students. He said, ‘Education is the mode of character for every students. It helps the student to develop, mould and shape a person in beginning who they want to be in future’.

He stated that Students should be given optimum opportunity to develop their attitude, skills and knowledge to understand and participate in the globally connected world. Students need to realize and understand the happening of today, to eliminate the bad, extract the good and implement it for tomorrow.

The Hon’ble Advisor also stated that the objective of the department is to harness the youth to fully realize the potential, time, talent and to promote and generalize in the field of sports, music and other youth centric activities and also provides scholarship for talented sports person.

The Hon’ble Advisor, Shri. Medo Yhokha Technical Education and Election, acknowledged ANCSU for being vigilant and vocal vanguard of the students community and society. He highlighted that as stakeholders of the state today, we have to take responsibilities and challenges with new perspective and proper orientations so that, we can ensure a better society for the future. He added that our dreams and our visions to search ahead and to go beyond must be our collective mission. He challenged to go beyond, excel beyond, beyond oneself, beyond community, beyond our tribe and beyond our nation must be the priority call of all Nagas.

Yhokha also exhorted for realistic and honest oneself not forgetting our root, our culture and our tradition and stressed on the need to asses and examine ourselves, and getting our shortcomings addressed in the right attitude. He called for unity and togetherness among Naga society.

Remarking that time and situation have changed, he also stressed on changing our narrative and outlook in setting new ideas and new vision. He acknowledged the incumbent Chief Minister for bringing numerous changes and development.

The program was chaired by Toito D Chishi Speaker ANCSU, Er.Keyiekhru Rhutso, Principal, Government Polytechnic Kohima pronounced the welcome address, Invocation by Atho Sothu, Asso. Pastor, Lerie Baptist church, two special songs were presented by Government Polytechnic and Runole Tep. Meanwhile, President ANCSU Vimeyiekho Vitso delivered the Presidential address.

On the first day of the meet, the following competitions were held:
Beat Contest, photography, online chess, football freestyle challenge, basketball freestyle challenge, original song competition and folk fusion.

The program was attended by representatives from colleges, ANCSU senior leaders, Naga Students’ Federation, Angami Youth Organization and host of dignitaries.

The second and final day of the meet on December 15, 2020 would be graced by Shri. Menuokholie Kire, Joint Director and State Project Director (RUSA) Higher Education, as the Valedictory Guest.

The second day will witness the following competitions:
Slam poetry and essay, quiz and painting, film craft presentation, innovation and designing.
