Kohima, June 15 (NEx): The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (Ancsu) intimated the office of the Chief secretary about the compelled decision taken on AICTE-NEQIP Fund utilization issue at Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA) and urged the state govt. for enquiry committee report on KPA fund utilization before June 20th, 2021.
The ANCSU in a letter to the Chief Secretary, Government of Nagaland while acknowledging the state’s tireless efforts to better the situation, said that the state government willfully neglecting to deliver justice for the students’ community is no less than assassination of students rights. It said that after continued digital protest, it was on October 17th, 2020, that an Enquiry Committee was set up to probe into the fund utilization at KPA under AlICTE-NEQIP with a time period of 3 months.
The students’ union said that their cooperation is tossed out as the state government till date is silent on the Enquiry Committee’s report and action taken. ‘Assurance after assurance’ has become the trademark of the government in regard to the said fund utilization issue and the ANCSU can no longer allow such routine to continue, the Union stated.
Further, the ANCSU said that the delay in bringing out the committee report only indicates the inefficiency of the committee or the intention of the state government to rescue those involved in the matter.
It intimated the state government to bring out the committee report before June 20, 2021, and on failure to produce the report at the given time period and until justice is delivered, the ANCSU said that the union shall resort to Intensified & Indefinite Digital Protest.
