Kohima, August 31 (NEx): The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) through a letter to the Chief Secretary (CS) on August 31st demanded for setting up of an enquiry commission on Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu scheme of AICTE-NEQIP.
The ANCSU in its RTI application on November 15, 2019 sought information on the various activities in respect of Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu scheme of AICTE-NEQIP. In reference of which, the Institute furnished the documents to the office of ANCSU on February 12, 2020, informing that an amount of Rs 1,04,00,000 was received as first instalment on April 04, 2014, Rs. 1,22,80,000 as second instalment on May 2, 2015, and an amount of Rs. 1,44,80,000 as third instalment on February 07, 2017, which amount to 3,71,60,000, and that the total amount received was expensed fully. Also, 1622 copies of information were furnished to the Union in reply to their RTI.
Following which, the Union informed that it had the privilege of visiting the institute with some lecturers and witness the activities. However, the Union expressed dissatisfaction on the claimed developments through the funds received. The ANCSU in a press release on February 16, 2020 urged the minister and department concerned for setting up an enquiry committee for the said fund utilization, it said.
Expressing dismay on the Lackadaisical response of the department, the union with strong objection demanded for setting up an enquiry commission to probe into the fund utilization of Rs. 3,71,60,000 at the Khelhoshe polytechnic Atoizu under the above mentioned scheme.
ANCSU further demanded that the commission should be set up within 30 days from today and also urged that the commission report should be submitted within one month from the date of the set up of the enquiry commission. Also, the Union requested the CS to take cognizance of similar scheme implementations in other institutes.
