Ahuna festival of Sumi celebrated today in different parts of Nagaland

Dimapur, November 14 (NE): The post harvest festival of the Sumis has been celebrated today in different locations under Nagaland state with pomp and gaity on November fourteen.

According to information recieved here, the festival has begun yesterday as Mini Hornbill Festival with the support of Government of Nagaland through Department of Tourism.

Amongst the delegation, former Chief Minister of Nagaland, Shri KL Chishi was seen as a special guest in one of it’s celebration under Dimapur district, besides hosts of others.

The festival is celebrated with traditional attire being worn by participating individuals marking the day. It is a great festival being organized by generations of the Sumis where ever they are located with funfair. The other interesting part is that of the Sumi’s feasts in the celebration to who ever is attending to observe the great fest; besides, followed by the cultural and traditional programs.

Governor of Nagaland, RN Ravi, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy CM Y Patton extends Ahuna greetings to Sumi community. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo declared the Ahuna Mini Hornbill Festival open at Zunheboto yesterday.
