Kohima, January 30 (NEx): In a good news for Nagaland, after Mumbai Indians, first edition (2018) Indian Premier League (IPL) champion, Rajasthan Royals, a franchise cricket team based in Jaipur, Rajasthan now called up Nagaland’s 16-year old leg spinner, Khrievitso Kense for trials.
As 14th edition of IPL is around the corner, different IPL franchises have called up 16-year old right arm leg spinner, Khrievitso Kense who made his debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy for Nagaland and took 7 wickets in 4 matches for trials.
Earlier, Kense was shortlisted and underwent 5 days trial with Mumbai Indians from January 20th to 24th, 2021 at Mumbai Reliance Cricket Ground. The result of the trail with Mumbai Indians is yet to be announced, Kense informed NagalandExpress.
Now, Rajasthan Royals has called up Kense for trials. Kense will be leaving for a two day trial with the Rajasthan Royals on Monday.
Khrievitso Kense is the son of Atuo & Neibunuo Kense from Sovima Village in Dimapur. Kense started playing Cricket in the local grounds since the age of 13. He is a right arm leg spinner/ right handed batsman.
Earlier, in 2017 & 2018, Kense played at Dimapur District Boys U-16 Inter-School Tournament. In 2018-2019, he represented Nagaland Boys U-16 in Vijay Merchant Trophy and took 5 wickets against Uttar Pradesh in his Debut Match in the Pre-Quarter Finals, and also attended Zonal Camp for North-East States and got selected for Inter-Zonal Tournament.
In 2019-2020, Kense also represented Nagaland Boys U-16 in Vijay Merchant Trophy. Recently, this year, he represented Nagaland Mens in Senior Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy for the Plate Group at Chennai and took 7 wickets in 4 Matches.
