Kohima, July 22 (NEx): Advisor, Horticulture & Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan, inaugurated the District Horticulture Office at Noklak on July 22nd, 2021.
Speaking on the occasion, Yanthan stated that a new dawn of progress and development is being witnessed in the district and congratulated the people of Noklak for becoming a separate district. The Advisor expressed hope that, with the opening of District Horticulture Office in Noklak, the people of the district will enjoy the fruits and benefits through the department, and added that the farmers will have an opportunity to learn modern ways of farming and he encouraged them to come forward to get the benefits from the department.
Encouraging the government employees, Yanthan asked them to work sincerely in all their responsibilities and capacities, wherever they are posted, in order to leave a good footprint behind. He also sought for the support and co-operation of the public.
Advisor, Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, Evaluation, Economic & Statistics, L. Khumo Khiamniungan said that with the establishment of the Office, traditional ways of farming will be improved and will lead to modern ways of farming in the region. Advisor Khumo thanked the government under the leadership of Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio and Advisor, Horticulture & Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan for establishing the District Horticulture office. He also thanked Commissioner & Secretary, Horticulture, Director Horticulture, District Horticulture Officer and others who were involved and took the initiative for establishing the District Horticulture Office at Noklak.
Speeches were also delivered by Commissioner & Secretary Horticulture Anenla T. Sato, IAS; Deputy Commissioner Noklak Reny Wilfred, IAS; SP Noklak, Pritpal Kaur IPS; President, Khiamniungan Tribal Council, M.Thangou and PS to Prison, Printing & Stationery, Chumukam during the occasion.
District Horticulture Officer, Noklak, Tiakaba Longchar chaired the programme and delivered the welcome address while keynote address was delivered by Director of Horticulture & Mission Director (MIDH) Dr. R. Elithung Lotha and vote of thanks was given by Horticulture Extension Assistant Avungthung Ngullie. Dedicatory prayer was delivered by Youth Longdon Baptist Church, Noklak Town, Pastor Luzu.
The programme was attended by Additional Secretary, Tribal Affairs and Cabinet Cell Nchumbemo Shitri, Departmental officials and leaders of different organisations.
