ABAM contributes over 36 lakhs 56 thousand towards Foothill Road Construction Project

  • A meeting between the Chief Minister Nagaland, Neiphui Rio and Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM) delegates led by Executive Secretary, ABAM, Mar Atsongchanger and the Foot Hill Road Construction Committee was held at the Chief Minister’s residential office on 27th June 2019.

In the meeting ABAM Executive Secretary, Mar Atsongchanger while thanking and appreciating the Government for taking up the Foothill Road Construction Project from Kilma, Peren to Tizit, Mon which is an important life-line for Nagas and all neighbouring states for all purposes. ABAM supports this on-going road construction and also requested the Chief Minister to personally supervise the project in order to make sure that the work completes within the stipulated time which will remain as a legacy for the generations to come.

ABAM Executive Secretary, Mar Atsongchanger also handed over a cheque of Rs. 36,56,282/- (Rupees thirty-six lakhs fifty-six thousand two hundred and eighty-two) only, a one contribution from all the churches under ABAM to the Chief Minister as a token concern and gratitude from the people towards the project.

The Chief Minister while thanking the ABAM for their keen interest for the development of the Foothill Road and the contribution towards the project also appreciated the people for contributing their land for development without compensation.

Rio added that the ongoing foothill road was to be named ‘Express Way’ but due to the incompletion of DPR could not be done so. He also said that he had taken up this project as one of the priority and had discussion with the Prime Minister and the central government and assured he would do all the needful.
