Dimapur, August 14: The 73rd Naga Independence Day were observed by various civil society bodies here in Nagaland including GPRN/NSCN and Naga Students federation and it’s units.
GPRN/NSCN organized the program at CHQ Camp by unfurling the Naga National flag, march past of the army contingent and speeches by various dignitaries to mark the occasion.

Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) celebrated the 73rd Naga Independence Day by hoisting the Naga National Flag at its Headquarter near Fire Brigade, Dimapur.
- Naga Students’ Federation celebrated 73rd Naga Independence Day at Naga Solidarity Park, Kohima
The Naga Students’ Federation celebrated the day along with thousands of students from various colleges in Kohima, senior members of NSF, representatives from various Units, eminent personalities, media personals and well-wishers.
The program proceeded with the unfurling of National Flag by Eno Ninoto Awomi, President NSF. Dr. Kevichalie Metha, President, Kohima Baptist Fellowship said the invocation with prayers for the success of the program.
In his Presidential Address, Eno Awomi iterated that “this day marked the celebration of our identity, our rights, our rich tradition and cultural practices and of our very existence as a free people…” He further assured that the Federation is determined, dedicated and will sacrifice everything to move the extra mile, to achieve the organisational vision for a better Naga future.
The keynote speaker for the occasion was Eno Niketu Iralu, Peace Activist,
Former Chairman Peace Committee, NBCC, & Former Trustee Friends of Moral Armament (LOFC), India.
The program was graced with a special presentation by the Rengma Baptist Church Kohima (RBCK) Choir.
The chairperson for the program was Eno Siipuni Ng. Philo, Asst. General Secy, NSF, and the vote of thanks was pronounced by Eno Rite Khutsoh, Speaker NSF.
