723 Healthcare Workers Vaccinated across Nagaland today, drive to continue on Wednesday

Kohima, January 25 (NEx): On the 7th day of vaccination in Nagaland, 723 healthcare workers were vaccinated today, January 25, 2021 with COVISHIELD vaccine across the state. The vaccination drive will be cancelled for tomorrow being the Republic Day and will continue on Wednesday, the department of Health & Family welfare notified.

A total of 5203 Healthcare workers, including Doctors, Nurses and support staff were vaccinated across all districts in Nagaland till date, informed Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Nagaland, today.

Dr. Ritu Thurr, State Immunization Officer, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland informed that, on the seventh day of the vaccination drive today, January 25th, 2021, the vaccination was conducted across 20 session sites in 9 districts in the state and 723 healthcare workers were vaccinated. There were no adverse events following immunization that required medical treatment, Thurr added.

Also, Dr. Thurr said that the COVISHIELD vaccine has gone through all phases of clinical trails and is safe for use in general population.

Till date, 16,15,504 healthcare workers have been vaccinated across the country by COVISHIELD and COVAXIN vaccines, the SIO added.
