3 returnees arrested in Mokokchung for misconduct and endangering public safety

Kohima, September 30 (NEx): Mokokchung Police arrested three (3) returnees for their misconduct on different occasions, endangering the health and safety of the public.

The Superintendent of Police Mokokchung in a press release on September 29, informed that an FIR was received from the Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung regarding misconduct of 3 interstate returnees amounting to threatening of health and safety of the general public.

The three returnees are identified as;

1) Mr Lipoktoshi S/O Lt. Pangerlemba, V/O Ungma: Arrested for concealing facts to the authorities at Dimapur and Kohima for obtaining travel permit and entered Mokokchung illegally on August 18, 2020.

2) Mr Imkongyanger, S/O Takosunep, V/O Wameken: Arrested for illegally sneaking out of the vehicle carrying interstate returnees bound for Amukloshi Quarantine Centre.

3) Mr Supongtemsu, S/O Kilenzuba, P/A Merangkong: Arrested for illegally sneaking out of the Sports Complex Quarantine Centre on the night of September 11, 2020 and visited his home and other areas and sneaked back into the Quarantine Centre.

The SP stated that after observing necessary COVID-19 protocol and mandatory quarantine period, a case was registered against them under relevant section of law. The three individuals were arrested and further investigation is underway.
