Dimapur, June 12: Hon’ble Minister for Transport, Civil Aviation, Railways and Land resources, Shri P. Paiwang Konyak has flagged off 2nd Helicopter Service for the State of Nagaland today (June 12) at Dimapur Airport.
The air conditioned chopper having a sitting capacity of 13 passengers with medical facilities will operate on 19 routes from the present 10 routes covering all the districts.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister stated that as per the directive from the Ministry of Home Affairs, 75 percent subsidy would be entitled only to common passengers and medical evacuation cases.
However VIPs, bureaucrats and government servants will not be entitled for subsidies. Also addressing the programme, Secretary of Transport, Kenilo Apon informed that with the addition of the second helicopter service, Nagaland would now have 1,200 flying hours annually.
The Centre had sanctioned the additional helicopter service under the Ministry of Home Affairs subsidy scheme.

With the service of the 2nd Helicopter, new routes are also added. Below is the lists of existing and new service routes.
Kohima, Zunheboto, Mokokchung, Kiphire, Mon, Wokha, Phek, Peren, Longleng, Tuensang, Noklak, Shamator, Aghunato, Melury, Seyochung, Tobu, Tizit, Pungro, Pfutsero.
