2873 Healthcare Workers Vaccinated In Nagaland Till Date

Kohima, January 19 (NEx): A total of 2873 Healthcare workers, including Doctors, Nurses and support staff were vaccinated across all districts in Nagaland, till date, informed Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Nagaland, today.

Dr. Ritu Thurr, State Immunization Officer, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland informed that, on the third day of the vaccination drive today, January 19, 2021, a total of 1415 health care workers were vaccinated with Covishield vaccine across all districts of Nagaland.

The vaccination was conducted across 36 selected sites including private hospitals today. Health care workers from both public and private facilities were vaccinated safely with much enthusiasm, stated Dr. Ritu Thurr.

The SIO also informed that all vaccinated workers will receive the subsequent second dose after 28 days and COVID-19 appropriate behaviours will be strictly maintained even after the vaccination.

It is pertinent to note that altogether 561 Healthcare Workers across 9 Districts in Nagaland were vaccinated for COVID-19 on the fist day of the vaccination drive on January 16, 2021, and 897 Healthcare Workers Vaccinated in all districts of Nagaland on the second day of vaccination drive on January 18, 2021.

The state Immunization officer also said that the first phase of Vaccination is reserved only for pre-registered health care workers as they are at the highest risk of infection and also to reduce transmission to patients when caring for them. All vaccination sites are entered in COWIN portal and all beneficiaries are verified with photo identity card before receiving the vaccine, Dr. Thurr added.

The Covishield vaccine has undergone all preclinical and clinical trails and is safe for use in general population, Dr. Thurr said.

Over 6.31 lacs beneficiaries vaccinated in India;

The cumulative number of healthcare workers vaccinated against COVID19 has touched 6,31,417 (till 6 pm today) through 11,660 sessions, as per the provisional report and 3,800 sessions were held till 6 pm today.

A total of 6,31,417(till 6 pm today) beneficiaries have been vaccinated in India till today through 11,660 sessions, as per the provisional report, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

1,77,368 beneficiaries were vaccinated till 6 pm today, which is the fourth day of nationwide COVID-19 vaccination. Final reports would be completed for the day by late night, said Health Ministry.
