2192 people quarantined in Nagaland; CM Rio sanctions initial expenses to combat Covid-19

Kohima, March 26 (NE): Dr. Vizolie Z Suokhrie, Principal Director, Health and Family Welfare, GoN has informed that as on 05:00pm, today, March 26, 2020 there is no positive cases of Coronavirus detected in Nagaland.

A total of 13 suspected Covid-19 samples were sent for testing from Nagaland, in which 8 samples tested negative. Five samples sent on March 26, 2020, results are awaited informed the Covid-19 bulletin, today.

A total of 5433 passengers were screened at Dimapur Airport and 19797 people were screened at railway station and at different road entry points, it added.

Out of this 2192 persons were quarantined in the state, this includes people who entered Nagaland from different locations since March 06, 2020.

Nagaland State has 171 Isolation beds, said the report. The number of calls received through helpline stands at 20,130. At present six Foreigners are in the state, added the report.

Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio sanctioned initial expenses to combat COVID-19

From the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Rs. 38 lacs is sanctioned to all the Deputy Commissioners of Nagaland & Medical Department for exigency expenses to combat COVID19.

Rs. 20 Lacs to Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority, Rs. 2 lacs each to Naga Students Union Bangalore, DRC Nagaland House Delhi, Kolkata & Guwahati for exigency expenses to help displaced people of Nagaland.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today visited the newly identified quarantine facility at Urban Housing Meriema, the preparatory work is underway. The Government of Nagaland is leaving no stone unturned to prevent the spread of coronavirus. #COVID2019, said a notification from CM Rio. CM was accompanied by Minister for Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom and other officials.
