218 kg of Suspected Ganja and 39 Cases of Liquor Seized in Kohima

Kohima: Personnel of Kohima South Police Station along with C/10 NAP (IR) during patrolling around PHQ area recovered a total of 39 cases of assorted liquor from a building near Bethesda Hospital on June 20.

In this connection, one person identified as Rohit Kumar (22) of Teja Dumri village under Parro police station, Muzaffarpur, in Bihar was arrested. PRO of Kohima DEF stated that a case was registered for further investigation.

In a separate incident on June 19, Mobile Unit of DEF Kohima while conducting routine patrolling around BSF camp area seized 14 packets of suspected Ganja weighing 218 kg from one vehicle (Maruti Gypsy) bearing registration number NL01P 0926.

A police report stated that on suspicion, the vehicle was signalled to stop, but it sped away. The patrolling party, after a hot pursuit, found the vehicle abandoned near Nagaland Medical College, Phriebagei, and recovered the item. It stated that a regular case under NDPS Act has been registered for investigation.
