Wokha, July 29 (NEx): The Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, District Task Force COVID-19, Wokha, Orenthung Lotha, notified that all inter district vehicle movement to be closed in Wokha District for seven (7) days starting from August 01 till August 07, 2020.
An official order issued by DC Wokha today, July 29, 2020 said that in the interest of Public health, safety and taking into consideration of the reports of COVID-19 positive cases in Wokha District and in view to contain and prevent the spread of Coronavirus, issued this order applicable throughout Wokha district from August 01 till 07, 2020.
All Inter-district vehicle movement shall remain closed except for movements of essential commodities, security forces, emergency medical services and person/department bonafide government duty.
Vehicle carrying essential commodities to be thoroughly frisked at all inter-State and Inter-district check gates and the police personnel manning the check gate are to ensure that only the driver and handyman with valid permit card and ID card are to be allowed to enter into the district, stated the order.
Any person acting in violation of this order shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and Epidemic Disease Act 1897, DC Wokha warned.
Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom informed of seven COVID-19 positive cases detected in Wokha District on July 28, 2020. As per COVID-19 daily bulletin issued by Dr. Denis Hangsing, Additional Director, H&FW on July 28, 2020, Wokha district has confirmed 8 COVID positive cases, in which one patient have recovered from COVID-19 and the active cases now stand at 7 in the district.
